Monday Soup

1 part broth, 1 part noodles, and 3 parts hyena saliva…it’s Monday Soup!

+ Chad Gibbs has a new book out today called Love Thy Rival: What Sports’ Greatest Rivalries Teach Us About Loving Our Enemies. I’m excited about this book for two reasons: 1) because Chad is hilarious, and 2) because I’m in it! Remember back when Chad and I went to the Red Sox home opener with Cameron Diaz (well, she was there)? That visit to Fenway was in support of this book. Should be a great read.

Chad’s also doing a great thing to raise money for Samaritan’s Purse. He’s pitting rival fans against one another to see who can raise the most money.

Here’s the Love Thy Rivals Leaderboard and here’s the Love Thy Rivals giving page. (This might be the only way the Red Sox win something this year.)

+ Amazon’s got over 1000 albums on sale for $5 until Friday. If you’re in the mood for something new to listen to this week, treat yourself to a couple of these MP3 downloads and enjoy!

+ Check out this new auction site called BidCycle. It rewards the person who bids the most, as opposed to the person who bids last. Looks like every new account is credited with 100 free tokens to use on bids right away, as well.

+ Thinking about my friends Shawn and Matthew this week as they’re in Sri Lanka with World Vision. You can follow the links to keep up with them on their blogs.

+ Dropped my daughter off for her first day of 6th grade this morning! Can. Not. Compute. You can’t fight the passage of time, so you might as well embrace it! So proud of the woman she is becoming.

what’s new in your world? let us know in the comments.

Have a great week!
