Monday Soup

1 part broth, 1 part noodles, and 4 parts melted butter…it’s Monday Soup!

+ Did you miss my guest post at Stuff Christians Like on SaturdayIt features a couple of snippets from Actually, Clams Are Miserable. Any copies ordered this week will be shipped out in 24 hours or less, so pick up some copies as gifts today!

+ I will be announcing the date and city of the next Killer Tribes Conference this week. In 2012 the conference was on March 31st in Nasvhille. Expect both of those things to change in 2013.

+ I did a 12-minute stand-up set on Friday night! Total bucket list item for me. And even though it was in front of a lot of friends at a church event, it was still terrifying. The feedback was pretty positive, and I didn’t bomb, so that was good. There’s no video, but here’s a photo. Chances are it’s something I’ll do again.

+ Loved this article on Amazon’s head honcho, Jeff Bezos. read it here.

+ Shawn Smucker has a new book out TODAY, and it is fantastic. How To Use a Runaway Truck Ramp is the tale of a cross-country adventure through the eyes of Shawn and his wife Maile (pronounced “Miley”). They are both amazing writers, and this book is Exhibit A. I’m 25% through it and every time I start reading it I have a hard time putting it down. Do yourself (or a book lover you know) a favor and grab your copy today. UPDATE: I think he’s giving away a free copy or two at his blog today.

+ Right now Best Buy is offering the iPhone 5 at $50 off with 2-yr agreement(Oh and Amazon has a $50 off code today only on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″, making it just $250.)

+ What a week of NFL games on tap! It starts tonight with preview #1 of the AFC Championship game (HOU @ NE), and then on Sunday we get a preview of the NFC Championship game (NYG @ ATL), a battle for first place in the NFC North (GB @ CHI), preview #2 of the AFC Championship game (DEN @ BAL), one of the league’s hottest teams against one of the best (IND @ HOU), two teams fighting for a wild card spot (PIT @ DAL), and a potential Super Bowl preview on Sunday night (SF @ NE). Yeehaw, that’s some good football.

+ I’m offering a very limited course to bloggers starting in mid-January and running for 4 weeks. It will feature two separate 1:1 sessions with me as well as a little bit of group work. Only 10 seats available, and you can save $25 on the course just by letting me email you when registration opens. Here’s the info: 31 Days to Mojo Course.

Have a great week everyone!
