Coming Next Week: The 2009 Yearbook

Big Announcement on the blog today.

On Wednesday I’ll be launching my first e-Book.

I took 25 of the best posts here on my blog from 2009.

I added content to 5 of those 25 posts to make them even better.

I threw in a handful of my favorite ramblings of the year.

I also threw in the book excerpt I shared in November.

and then I threw in 2 additional book excerpts I haven’t shared anywhere else.

It’s 24 pages, chock full of the insanity that escaped my brain through my fingers in 2009.

You’ll be able to download it, read it on your computer, print it out for your bathroom, print it out for your church’s bathroom, and print it out to burn in your wood stove.

It’s the BryanAllain.com 2009 Blog Yearbook

…and starting February 1st it will be a $2.99 download from here on the site.

BUT…You guys are my loyal readers. You’ve been here for a while. I really didn’t want to ask you to pay for it.

That’s why the E-Book will be FREE to download from its launch on January 13th until January 31st.

At midnight on February 1st it will turn into the funniest $2.99 you’ve ever spent (except maybe for the overpriced whoopie cushion you bought at that West Virginia Cracker Barrel 3 years ago). But until then it won’t cost you anything.

It launches on Wednesday, but I’d like to send 3 of you an advance copy on Monday.

All you need to do is leave me a comment to this post and tell me what you’re up to this weekend.

I’ll choose 3 random winners on Monday out of all comments left before midnight Sunday EST.

Super excited about this…I’ll tell you more on Monday. Have a great weekend!

What About You: What are you up to this weekend?

    Hey Bryan,
We’ve got a nice little Saturday planned taking my 9-year-old son to basketball practice and doing a whole lot of nothing in particular. Sunday School and worship on Sunday, Packer game at 3:30 (I’m from Wisconsin, don’t hold it against me), there you go!
    Thanks for asking!

  2. Jimmy says:

I wish I could say something exciting or interesting, such as “this weekend I will be shaving a bear in order to disguise it as a rather large, aggressive person,” but I simply cant without lying. Shame.
Actually what I’ll be doing is helping lead a youth alpha course that starts this week across our town, and possibly giving a talk at a church just outside the town. (That’s if the few inches of snow that seems to have paralysed the UK has been cleared from the roads!)
Thinking about it the y.alpha thing is probably of more beneficial, long term use to other people, but still, shaving a bear would be a great talking point…

  3. Bryan, that’s a ridiculously awesome idea. Can’t wait to see it.

  4. Toni Nelson says:

Byran, I will be attending a renewal of wedding vows for some friends. I will also be the one serving the cake. Then I plan to work on the final draft of my manuscript so that it can be shipped off to the layout department! Oh yea, I will be taking the barney mobile to be serviced for a future road trip. Sunday will include church, bbq tri-tip and a movie. Will your yearbook blog include “how to create more hours in a day?”

  5. Brett Barner says:

Awesome idea! I will be at home making a paper chain calendar to count down the days until Lost begins.

  6. Tim M says:

I will likely be trying to sled with my 3-yr-old daughter on Saturday morning while my 1-yr-old son naps, and then home with the kids Saturday afternoon while my wife goes to a photography class.

Saturday night I’m hoping to take the family to at least the first half of the opening game of Lehigh vs. American, the first game of the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Conference portion of the season. I haven’t had a chance to see the men play, but they apparently have a crazy sick freshman who can light it up. “He’s a Diaper Dandy, baby,” as Dickie V would say.

On Sunday I have no idea what I will do. I am not used to Sunday afternoons in January without a Steelers game. It’s very disappointing and quite alarming. I keep calling the Steelers’ offices asking why there isn’t at least an intrasquad game or something they can broadcast. But I think they’ve blocked my phone number.

So if there is still good snow, I guess I’ll be sledding again and definitely hanging with the family.

  7. Bethany says:

It’s my birthday weekend. So tonight I’m having a dinner with my family. Saturday will be a birthday dinner for me and my friend from church(Korean BBQ) and bowling with some of our friends. Sunday morning is church and then Sunday afternoon is another small party with friends for games and other fun stuff. Im trying to make the most of this weekend, cause you know it only happens once a year. :)

  8. Shawn says:

I want one of those things.

This weekend I will be going to Florida where it will be just as cold as it is here in Pennsylvania. And it’s a short trip, with bad weather here, so my outbound flight will probably be delayed to a time after my return flight. How am I supposed to come back before I leave?

Oh well, “when it rains it pours.” Maybe you can address that one next Thursday.

  9. Ben says:

I will finishing my application to seminary, and praying that I finally find the words to describe myself in the autobiographical statement. It has been on my to-do list for well over a month.

  10. Christine says:

Absolutely nothing. After many booked weekends with too much to do I am happy to say I am doing nothing this weekend. Nobody call me…I am busy doing nothing…

  11. Brian -

    this weekend I will be…

    A. Practicing (hours of fun)
    B. Working on my website (which I am in the process of redoing)
    C. Leading worship @ FLCC as Chad is away (which I am really looking forward to)
    D. Beginning a 21 punishment of my flesh aka. fast along other FLCC Peeps (which I am not looking forward to)

  12. Lori says:

Oh and with three boys TONS OF BASKETBALL games.

  13. I’m thinking of writing my name in the snow (take that, females) this weekend. I’m also, on an unrelated note, considering totally redesigning my web page.

  14. jennybek says:

Well, since we have 1/2″ snow on the ground here in VA and things came to a halt, I guess soup & puzzle night will continue until spring.

  15. Nice job. I like the price point. :>) No, really I like the way you’ve set this up. Hope it works out for you.

What am I doing this weekend? Writing, writing, sledding, writing, fellowshipping. And probably eating somewhere in there. :>)

  16. Kristy B. from WV says:

Planning to watch my Netflix copy of Julie & Julia that I have had since before Christmas on Friday evening.

Saturday I am getting the rest of Christmas organized and put away, then attending a local Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals meeting (no, not to find my future husband, as was suggested by a friend…)

Sunday is worship rehersal then church with my amazing church family! Sunday afternoon consists of nothing. Absolutely nothing. And I love it.

  17. Ben Wiggins says:

This weekend I will be making my bi-weekly trek 2 hours south to visit my fiance in Stuart, FL. And then of course Sunday is church.

  18. Aunt Melinda says:

I’m thinking your favorite Aunt-by-marriage shouldn’t have to ask for an advance copy? But in case I’m expected to live by the same guidelines as all the other readers, here’s what I’m doing this weekend–Saturday while my husband works a double shift at the hospital I’m staying home to recover from a particularly nasty bout of some unknown respiratory thing, drinking lots of fluids, taking the OTC drugs my pharmacist husband recommends, lounging about waiting for and then watching the Saturday evening Eagles/Cowboys game. Sunday we’re supposed to go to dinner with friends–not sure that’s going to happen.
So, do I get one of the advance copies now, please?

  19. Darcyjo says:

Me? Rehearsing with our church’s band (I sing leads), cleaning, and getting ready for spring semester to start on Monday. I’m supposed to graduate in May, dear Lord!
And trying not to worry about my seminary application. Yeah. Right.

  20. Sarah Nash says:

Lowest key weekend I’ve had in a while – yay! But I am attending a birthday party with a silver theme (for her “silver” birthday – 25th. I’m attending despite the fact that she’s only turning 25 and, at 31, I’m older than dirt) So I will be shopping for something silver to wear then partying it up!

  21. Jack says:

Well, this is a cool idea. For my part, I shall be going to a breakfast buffet, then helping one of our young ladies move. If I’m not exhausted, I will be playing with a small CNC machine, one homophonically named after a small chirping insect. On Sunday afternoon, I hope to go see Daytrippers, and then a reception for a retiring staff member. Actually, quite a full weekend once you factor having to do some work int there somewhere.

  22. mary p. says:

awesome! i’m meeting up with friends for dinner, watching the Eagles v. Cowboys game and scheduling some play time with my nephews

  23. Buddy Watts says:

I was planning on catching up on my sleep this weekend, but since I read this breaking news, that is pretty much out of the question. I am like a kid on Christmas Eve….
