What’s Your Number?

Time for another installment of this numerical version of reader questions.

Each question has a number for an answer. Feel free to expound as much or as little as you like in the comments.

The number of books you’ve finished reading in 2012

x (multiplied by)

The number of magazines your household is currently subscribed to

- (minus)

The number of movies you’ve seen in the theater in 2012

= Your answer.

Do the math. What’s Your Number?

    44×1-0=44

The 44 books includes audiobooks and a couple that were in progress when the year started. I only counted my own magazine subscriptions because I don’t pay particularly close attention to my housemates mail. Haven’t been to the cinemas this year because I get to see so many at home courtesy of the diverse taste in movies my four housemates have.

i don’t care how you got to 44, that’s an impressive number!

    30×6-5= 175

I’ve recently got on this cheap magazine mailing list, so I’ve picked up a bunch of new subscriptions… totally out of the normal for me.

What’s a ‘magazine’? Did we just slip back to 1998?

    • Bryan

look at you with your fancy digital tablets and electronic media. some of us still like the feel of a magazine in our hands as we’re relaxing in a certain room of our house.

    Hmm…

    15 books x 3 magazines=45
    45-10 (number of movies) = 35.

78 hard cover books, audio books, paperbacks x 3 magazine subscriptions not including the ones purchased individually – 0 movies = 234
Yes, I read, speed read…a lot. Several books a week. Not everyone has band width so hard copy resource magazines are a wonderful addition to my household. I’m old school, a different generation, and support my public county library as well as use my Kindle.
Movies…seems like a lot of money for not much especially when they’ll be available for home rental/purchase all too soon.
