The holidays are gone, 2011 has been filed in Wikipedia, your scale is reading differently than it was 2 weeks ago, and it’s time to make 2012 the best year ever. Where to start?
How about winning an $20 Amazon gift card on my blog for doing next to nothing? Intrigued? I’ll tell you more in a minute.
Before we get to that, here’s something else I’m giving away:
Everyone who registers for the Killer Tribes Conference in the next 10 days (January 3rd through January 12th) at the $89 Early Bird Rate will be eligible to win 1 of 3 free tickets to the Killer Tribes Conference!

How To Be Eligible To Win 1 of the 3 Free Tickets:
1. For every ticket you purchase to the Killer Tribes Conference between 1/3 and 1/12 you will receive (1) entry into the drawing. (Buy 2 tickets, and you have 2 entries.)
2. On Monday, January 16th I’ll put every entry into a hat. The first 3 names I pull out will win a free additional registration. The next day (1/17) I’ll announce the winners on my blog.
RULES I HAVE TO INCLUDE:
1. You may not use the free registration on yourself. (In other words, you can not cash in your free registration to have your initial registration refunded. This rule applies to folks who have purchased multiple tickets as well.)
2. You may not re-sell the free registration. If I find out you are trying to sell it I will hunt you down and fist fight you. Or in lieu of a fist fight I may scold you with a furrowed brow.
3. You should give the free registration away. Maybe to a friend, a family member or a stranger…or give it away as a contest on your blog. (Please do this by 2/29/12 and email me their info.)
So there you go. The Early Bird rate of $89 for this conference ends on January 31st, but why wait until the end of the month? Register in the next 10 days and you might win a free registration to bring a friend along!
What about the Amazon Gift Card I mentioned at the beginning of this post?
Leave a comment to this post stating what you are most excited about at the Killer Tribes Conf. (or what you would be excited about if you were going) and you are automatically entered to win a $20 Amazon Gift Card. That’s it.
(1 entry per person, so don’t try to leave multiple comments to increase your chances. I will randomly select the winner on Monday January 16th and announce it on January 17th.)
In addition, if you share the following tweet via Twitter between January 3rd and January 12th and you are chosen as the winner, I’ll bump that $20 gift card up to a $35 gift card! Here’s the tweet to share:
[TWEET THIS] –> 3 free tix to #KillerTribes up for grabs if you register by 1/12. Details & free chance at an Amazon gift card here: http://bit.ly/uxyGpz
So to recap:
+ Leave a comment to this post between 1/3 – 1/12: eligible to win a (1) $20 gift card
+ If you are the gift card winner and I check your Twitter stream and see that you shared the above tweet between 1/3 and 1/12, that $20 gift card becomes a $35 gift card.
+ Register for Killer Tribes between now and January 12th and you are eligible to win 1 of 3 free tickets to the event! You get a great rate on a Killer conference and a great chance at making someone else’s day!

More conference news coming this week…wait until you hear who else is going to be there!
Happy New Year everyone!

I’m most excited about meeting and hanging out with people that I don’t even know. Also, that’s the think I’m most nervous about.
(*Note to self: buy more antiperspirant before KTC.)
I’m most excited about meeting everyone and all the awkward pauses after the initial small talk evaporates. GOOD TIMES!
I’m most excited about you winning the extra ticket and giving it to me. Right?!
I’m excited to see all the varieties of Cheese-Its that will be available on the all-you-can eat buffet….if I’m able to attend…I’m going to attend….maybe…hopefully.
I would be excited if it was in Austin! Wish I could attend
I would be excited if it was in the Philly area. After that, I would be most excited to rub shoulders with other bloggers – like yourself.
If I had time and money to go, I’d be excited to hear and meet people that I’ve seen, talked to, and heard so much about on twitter. Oh, and how to share my stuff better (<-see, you can already see I need help!)
I wish I could afford to go. I’m most excited to hear about the ideas this community comes away with from attending the conference. Since a lot of us can’t go, I’m hoping to catch a good summary of what we missed.
If I were attending the event, I would be excited about the networking that would happen at the event. Getting to mingle with other bloggers who are creating great content would be awesome.
I’d like a bucket of extra crispy and a bucket of hot/spicy with a double order of biscuts and gravy…what the, huh?!?…I thought this was online ordering for KFC but it’s actually the upcoming KTC.
My bad, but I am looking forward to the gathering….and I do hope the Colonel’s secret recipe is one of the breakout sessions….
I would be excited if I actually got to go (but it’s looking like I’d have to sell a kidney to do it–and I’ve only got one of those).
But, yeah, really wishing I could be there. Maybe I’ll start a Kickstarter campaign.
Can’t wait for this event!
Same weekend as my projected “debt-free” Dave Ramsey visit. So if I fail to meet the countdown deadline and unnecessary pressure I’ve put on my family, it will make for a GREAT icebreaker at the conference.
I can just hear it now…”oh, so you’re the guy who ISN’T debt free this weekend?”.
I would be excited to me others bloggers and build those connections face to face. Networking FTW! Unfortunately I am unable to attend, but if any bloggers are ever in Toronto, Canada or Southern Ontario. Let’s meet up!
Wish I could be at this event, it’s going to be great! Gotta coach a LAX game on the 30th that is nowhere near Nashville.
I’m most excited about meeting Billy D. Williams!
I would be most excited about hearing all of the great information from the speakers!
I am so stoked to see how God uses the people at this conference to change our world after the conference is over. It’s not about the conference, but the catalyst that the conference will be.
I’m stoked about this conference! It looks to be really, really great!!
I am always excited for conferences in the ways they will stretch my understanding and broaden my horizon on subjects – always good referrals to other people to get in touch with, books to read, etc.
I’m most excited to finally meet the people who I have been following via blogs and social media for so long. Is it stalker-esque? Sure, but isn’t that was social media is all about?
i definitely wanna be involved in this with you! i believe in your vision and all that #KillerTribes stands for. the thing i’m most looking forward to is learning how to take my blogging community to the next level without losing that organic/grassroots feel…
Networking. HIlarity. Great ideas. Relationships.
Living in Spain right now, so won’t be attending. But my Kindle could use a book or two! Thanks Bryan for a excellent resource.
Would love to attend!
I would be most excited about hearing Derek Webb…
I can’t go, but if I was going, I’d be most excited about the following:
- The symposium given by Knox McCoy (I note he has not been confirmed as a speaker. This surely is a misprint.) on the proper amount of orange marmalade to apply when one is making toast.
- The freestyle “dance battle” between Tripp & Tyler
- Sarah Mae’s short seminar: “How to right-click with a Mac mouse.”
- The “How many bloggers can we fit inside of this intertube” contest.
Those would be my personal highlights. Bummed I can’t make it. Hopefully next year!
Kevin, if only I had a MAC…
Apparently, the seminar will be even shorter than anticipated. Bummer.
The thing that I would be the most excited for if I was attending the conference is just the personal interaction with other bloggers. Living in Anchorage, Alaska almost 100% of my interaction with other bloggers is done through email, blog posts and those sort of things, but to be able to sit down face-to-face and be able to talk about the things that we face as writers would be awesome.

would probably be most excited to simply be in the presence of the one and only Bryan Allain.
you would definitely be the most disappointed person at the conference.
Unfortunately I won’t be at the conference, but I am excited to hear stories from the conference!
Hey Bryan, I’m always down for a good fist fight. Hit me up tomorrow at the time we discussed and we’ll work out the “time and place” Oh, and I’m really hoping to make the event too. It’s sounding more and more interesting and fun as days go by
Maybe once I attend the KTC, I will learn how to make my photo appear when I leave comments like this…
I’m expecting Bryan & Co. to serve as the voice from the heavens, telling me exactly how to focus all the ideas I have for my next blog.
Also, can’t wait to meet the woman who is so cool that her Twitter handle is “JButtWhatWhat.”
Next step: See if my spouse is up for “Alias” Christmas cards (my personal J.J. Abrams devotion). Oh, and win an Amazon gift card so I can purchase some of the surely awesome resources the KTC will recommend!
I CONCUR. Wait, what?
I’m looking forward to KTC showing me how to take my blog from something my friends and big brother use to check up on me, to something that sparks real dialogue among lots of people!
Definitely wish I could attend. I would love to get the chance to sit in and listen to the fantastic line of speakers you have for this year.
I am moderately excited about performing the Troy and Abed handshake with everyone I meet. After they square block me when I go in for a hug, I mean.
I am most excited about the opportunity to overcome my Allainaphobia.
and you most certainly will…either that, or the conference will kill you.
So excited you’re coming, make sure you confirm your presence on the Facebook Event Page: http://www.facebook.com/events/254217911307422/
If I were able to go to Killer Tribes, I would be most excited about the chance to mingle and network with others as well as learn from Bryan, Jon Acuff, and the other featured speakers.

Looks like an awesome lineup of speakers. I’m planning to be there.
I am looking forward to meeting a lot of great people and getting myself more educated on how everyone else has made a go at their sites and dreams. I developed my idea while in Afghanistan last year and have been struggling with it ever since. My wife is looking forward to the opportunity for the 2 of us to take a much needed trip together.
i’m looking forward to telling everyone where all the good bars are in Nashville.
Most excited about swag. There’s swag, right?
