I appreciate humility and self-deprecation as much as the next guy, but there’s nothing worse than a blogger who continually takes shots at their own blog.
If you’re always writing about how few people read your blog or you frequently complain about the lack of community you have no one is going to ever take your seriously.
I’m not suggesting you lie about your numbers. If they’re terrible, then don’t talk about them. And if they’re slowly growing, then let people know you are a growing blog. Just don’t take a dump on your own blog. And never, never, never, NEVER whine about your low traffic. Don’t do it on your blog, on facebook, in other people’s blog comments, or on twitter.
NO ONE wants to read a whiner.
I know it can be tempting to do, but in my opinion, it’s the #1 way to keep your blog from growing.
