First Day of School

+ Kylie got on the bus at 8:15am this morning. Second grade already…good night she’s growing fast. We popped in her classroom this morning and saw that she was sharing a desk with a girl who picked on her last year. Yeah, that’s right, there’s a girl bullying her already. She doesnt beat her up or anything, just stupid stuff like teasing. She handles it pretty well though. As much as I want to scare the crap out of the bully girl, I know its best to just let Kylie deal with it. Can’t protect em all the time.

+ We were at school because Parker’s kindergarten orientation was from 9:30am-11am. Parker got to meet his teacher (who is actually a girl Erica went to school with) and meet some of his classmates. I took the day off to check it out. I also stole a sticker from the classroom and let Erica see me do it, just so she would get mad at me. It’s fun to poke little miss ethical with a stick sometimes. All in good fun. In a minute I’m taking Parker to McDonald’s for lunch (his choice) and then we’re going to play pitch and putt. Some Dad-son bonding with my growing boy.

Update: Erica just told Parker to change for golfing and he said “Mom, can i wear no underwear?”. “No,” I said from the other room. “Why?” he asked. “Because, we don’t golf with no underwear.” There’s a sentence I never thought I’d say.

+ I posted part 1 of a 5-part series – the Christian’s Guide to Fantasy Football – on my sports/faith blog this morning. Even if you’re not into Fantasy Football I think you’ll enjoy it. Check it out and let me know what you think.
