My wife the groundhog

Sitting here at home, feeling good, feeling bad. Feeling bad because i have strep throat. last winter it was a sinus infection, the year before that it was strep. I feel lethargic and my throat hurts…but it could be worse. Amoxicillin, do your thing.
I feel good because it’s my wife birthday today (happens every Groundhog’s Day). I had the day off, being sick and all, so we were home together today. I gave her her gift this morning, a Canon Rebel XT, and she loved it. Hopefully it makes up for the Minolta SLR i left on the airplane back in 2000.

I feel good because I’m eating a delicious dinner courtesy of Applebees. I picked up some Carside to Go a little while ago and I’m feeling good in the neighborhood. Parmesan Shrimp and Sirloin.

I feel good because we’re watching “How to Eat Fried Worms” with the kids right now. Fun hanging out with them. It’s snowing outside pretty good…maybe enough to play outside tomorrow. We’ll see.

Can’t decide who I’m rooting for in the Super Bowl. I honestly don’t think I care. But I hope it’s a good game. I submitted a sports piece to Burnside recently, so I’m hoping that gets published soon. We shall see…

I’ve got my hands on some of Derek Webb’s new album, The Ringing Bell, due out May 1st, and so far i really like what i hear. The Beatles’ influence seems to be strong, and that’s a good thing. Lyrically, he’s as strong as ever. And the cover art is pretty slick too. All in all it should be a good year for Mr. Webb.

I’m headed back to the couch where it’s warm and safe. My stomach is full, Erica is XXVI, and the snow keeps falling outside. Stay healthy San Diego…
