18 years of marriage. One year for every hole on a golf course, a sport that I am not playing today because it’s my anniversary, duh. But being married to this girl? It’s like bombing a 270-yard baby draw off the first tee. It’s like watching a 20-footer for birdie drop in the cup on its last rotation. It’s like a gorgeous 7-iron from the first cut that lands a foot below the hole for a kick-in birdie. It’s like adding them up in the parking lot and realizing you shot your best score…every single day. No one has her combination or smarts, loyalty, faith, looks, humor, determination, and kindness, which makes it so so so easy to be her guy.
