So here’s the thing. What’s happening in D.C. today is amazing. You don’t need me to tell you that, but it really is.
Whatever you feel about Barack Obama’s politics, religion, or history. For one day, put it aside. If you want to talk about Obama’s voting record, save it for tomorrow. If you don’t like his economic policies, table it for 24 hours. If you don’t think he’ll bring any change to Washington, that’s fine…just deal with it on Wednesday.
Today we are inaugurating an African-American man as President of the United States. How amazing is that! Considering the deplorable history of this country with regards to race, this is a great thing and something that we ALL should be celebrating.
Thank You Dr. King, and thank you to everyone else who fought for equal rights for all men and women. We are not yet where we need to be, but today is a great milestone in the journey. Viva Obama!
