I’ve always thought “The Bachelor” on ABC was a terribly cruel show. (same goes for The Bachelorette). Sure, 1 girl ends up engaged to the man of her dreams. But what about the other 24? Some of them never get a chance to connect with the Bachelor and are booted at the beginning. Others are dumped only after they’ve fallen in love. I’m not saying it doesn’t make for great TV, I just think it’s a brutally cruel show. So much so that I wrote an article about it over at Suite101. To find out how i worked polygamy and vomit into the article, click here.

out of every 50 writers that apply to be a freelance writer at Suite 101, 40 are rejected. at least that’s what they told me when they hired me, that i was one of a lucky 20%. I’m cool with that.

Why am I writing for Suite 101? Why not, I say? The quota of what i need to produce is pretty light, and I could use some more writing experience. I’ll be writing mostly about sports I think, probably about football more when the NFL starts showing up on the radar.

Will I get paid for it? Yeah, a little bit. Mostly based on page views and ad clicks and such. So that’s a good thing too.

I’ve only written one article so far. You can read it here. Just a recap of the Celtics amazing comeback in Game 6 last week. Better stuff is yet to come

What do nearly naked old men have to with the Italian swim team? What’s my nickname for the Kentucky Derby winner? What summer activity might get me fired?

I’ve got an article featured on the front page of Burnside this week that will answer all those questions. It’s called “The ABCs of Summer Sports” and it was a lot of fun to put together.

Check it out and let me know what you think…

Author Brian McLaren was kind enough to fill out one of my Prayers For Blowouts Sports Surveys recently. I posted his responses yesterday. Definitely the most notable person I’ve had participate in the blog so far…but hey, we’re just getting started here.
