haircut

My college roommate and I have been cutting each other’s hair since 1996. At an average of 10 haircuts a year and $15 a haircut, that’s over $2000 I’ve saved. For some strange reason I decided to eschew the free snip last month and as a result I am shaggy. it’s been almost 2 months since I’ve had a haircut and I’m desperately due.

Tomorrow I’m getting my hair cut by a professional stylist.  I have no idea what I want and no idea what he’s going to do. This could be a disaster. Or not.

I’ll let you know next week. Have a great weekend!

Watch Your Mouth

Musician (and author) Andrew Peterson has a great post up on his rabbit room blog about the difference between cursing and foul language and what it all means. I agree with just about everything that Andy has to say on the subject. Well worth the read.

self-preservation

“What if there was a church that was committed to causes larger than its own preservation” - Rob Bell

I heard this quote in a sermon podcast from Rob Bell a while ago, and it’s still stuck in my head. I think every church ought to take a look at itself and see what percentage of its programs, events, time, money, and energy is being used on self-preservation.
