i think that Theo will definitely make a deal or two before sunday at 4pm. My gues is that The Sox and The Twins finally agree on the trade that makes so much sense for both of them. I think Kevin Millar and Bill Mueller will get shipped off to the Twins for pitching. Probably Romero and Mays, even though it sounds like the Twins don’t want to give up Mays. In the end, Minnesota has to get something done. They might even throw Brett Boone in there, as they are thinking of letting him go. The Red Sox can put Youkilis at 3rd, and keep Olerud at 1st, and their lineup won’t suffer too much of a loss (Youks is definitely a downgrade from Mueller in my opinion). But the much needed pitching help that they would get in return is a must if they are going to repeat.

Meantime, if they get rid of Millar, with Nixon hurting, i think they need to get another outfielder. I’d love to see them pick up Matt Lawton from Pittsburgh, but not at a high price.

Last Red Sox thought…forget trading Hanley Ramirez. Edgar Renteria is not the future of this Red Sox infield. He is old and way past his prime. If he’s 29, I’m Steve Garvey. Move Him to 2B or trade him to make room for Hanley.

3 more softball games left, one tonight. will watch the thursday BB6 episode tonight, can’t wait. “The Cut” on CBS has been a great show. Tommy Hilfiger is such a pompous weiner, i love it.

So Big Brother 6 is in turbo mode already, i couldnt be happier.

i liked James early on, but slowly started to cool down on him until he lied right to Kaysar’s face, at which point i went cold. Big Mistake. I thought he was one of the smarter players in the house, but that was a bad move. Talk about thinking short-term over long-term, yikes.

I really like Kaysar. I started to like him as soon as he admitted to Eric that he was the one who told Michael to ease off the women. He read the situation and immediately knew he needed to be up front with Eric. He also seemed to be the one early on who picked up that Janelle was pretty bright. I liked how he handled the Mike situation, for the most part, and i personally think that he and Janelle are the two smartest people in the hosue (though that and a quarter will get you a gumball in this house, usually.)

Eric annoys me. flat out annoys me. Ivette as well. I realize i am seeing edited versions of reality, but they way they dramatized the ordeal with Michael was absurd. One minute Eric is in the HoH room convincing April that Mike would be sitting in jail for harrassment on the outside, the next minute he’s saying “Mike’s not bad” or some such truck. I do realize he’s just being himself, and while that’s noble, it’s going to get him booted in a couple weeks. I won’t shed a tear.

Ivette annoys the tar out of me. The way her and “Cappy” rile each other up annoys me. The way she carries herself annoys me. I’m not sure why she’s hiding the fact that she’s gay, unless it’s to disassociate herself from Beau. Now it will just be another exposed lie that will ship away at her credibility. The only silver lining to her winning HoH would be if she hasnt exposed herself as gay yet and suddenly has to explain some pictures.

April and Jennifer do nothing for me in this game. I think Jennifer will go further, but only because April seems more abrasive. Watching her interact in the house, it’s like watching somebody rubbing a blue tip match on 20-grit sandpaper, eventually the sparks will start a fire.

I love Kaysar’s nominations. Don’t forget, it was Janelle’s idea to nominate them. Eric will fight for Maggie and it will alienate James and Sarah. I wonder who Kaysar wants to leave. James i think, though Eric and Maggie are a strong team (especially with Beau and Ivette as their minions). Assuming no veto is used, i think Sarah might be the only vote to oust Maggie. Wouldnt be surprised if the “secret teams” are brought out into the public this week. i can see Eric using the James/Sarah relationship as his biggest weapon. though he and Maggie are probably closer.

other thoughts…Howie will definitely last another 4 or 5 weeks, like the “clown” always does, but the clown eventually gets burned for not picking sides. then again, it seems he has picked a side now. let’s see if he tries to fip-flop like Alison two years ago and Diane last year…that skirmish last week was pretty awesome…i want more house secrets…i really think they are going to bring back an evicted houseguest this year…julie chen is awful, but in an endearing way…the new house is cool, but i think it could be alot cooler…early final four guess: Jennifer, Sarah, Beau, and Rachel.

  • at first it was cool to have a gmail account. you had to be invited. but due to the law of exponential growth (i think that’s a law…if not it should be) now everyone has an account and 8 invites they’ve never given. so now i think it’s cool to NOT have a gmail account. and that’s why i don’t have one. (though i am curious to see what the fuss is about).
  • Big Brother 6 has hit an interesting point in the show jsut 1 week in. Most of the secret pairs are realizing that they are not alone. some pairs have already figured out who is with who. So how long is this goign to bubble under the surface? my guess is not too long. in fact if I was Janelle, i would out everybody now that i was the only one without my teammate. only thing is i dont think she has a clue.
  • Here’s what i think would be a phenomenal BB6 strategic move. If i was Eric (or anyone else…we’ll use Eric as an example) I would make a deal with Janelle and it would go something like this. Eric and Janelle should pretend to be a team. Maggie can pretend that she was teamed with Ashlea. This works for Maggie because people will not see her as a threat now that she is on her own. It will work for Janelle, because if she agrees to go along with it, Eric and Maggie will protect her and bring her along until the very end. It works for Eric because he is seen as teamed with a weaker player than he is actually teamed with. the only problem with this would be that if the hoax was discovered, peeps would be out for revenge for being lied to. So if Eric and Maggie could convince her to go along with it, and then Janelle would get voted out, then it would seem as if Eric and Maggie were alone, when in fact they would be a strong alliance. It’s not the craziest plan ever hatched on BB, so it might work.
  • on wednesday night erica and i caught Mae live in concert at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster. Lovedrug opened for them, and put on a great show as well. The venue was literally 95-100 degrees, I am not exaggerating. We were dripping with sweat for 2 hours. I guess the HVAC was busted or something. Walking out into the 85 degree air after the show was like stepping into Air Conditioning. Mae put on a great show. The sound was a bit shaky at first, but once they got a fwe songs into their set it got better. By the time the band hit the final few songs of the set, they had the place fully inspired and singing along. It was great. I still say their Everglow album is the best disc of the year to date and this concert only solidified that for me.
  • i got asked to play in a state tournament by the best softball team in our league this week. It’s the equivalent of the Yankees asking Carl Crawford to come play with them over in Japan or something. I am honored to play SS for them, it should be alot of fun.

  • trip to MA this week was a good one. Celebrated my dad’s 50th with the gift of Tivo, watched some Sox games, ate lots of natural homemade popcorn (smothered in parmesan), ate at Chili’s, made some S’mores, enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and read a few more chapters in my book.
  • I-95 in New York between exit 10 and exit 2 took about 2.5 hours to crawl through. we went about 8 miles in 2.5 hours. it was awful. next time we head south, it’s on the Tappan Zee.
  • last night my right pinky toe met the banister to my second floor stairs. the meeting lasted about 1 second and was conducted at approximately 20 MPH. ramifications of this meeting included my jumping in the air, landing on my knees, writhing on the ground, and wearing a sandal to work today because i couldnt get a shoe on this morning. i’m not ready to go to the doctor’s yet, because i think its getting better. but man, that hurt.
  • Big Brother 6 starts tonight on CBS with a new house, lots of twists, and Erica and I once again planted firmly on the couch. It’s come along way from season 1, where America cast out the housemates and Dr. Drew was analyzing the houseguests behavior. This is the most invasive and pointless of all reality shows, and still my favorite.
