#8. I thought Ben told John Locke a few seasons ago that he never really met Jacob, that he was lying. It’s like I can hear Ben saying “Because I’ve never met him John.”

Wow, great analysis guys – this actually helped me process some things I hadn’t thought about before. Love the dark & light analogy with the lighthouse and cave, that makes a lot of sense. I also think you’re on to something with the alt-timeline being the destiny that they choose. The characters that haven’t made a deal with smokey seem to have the makings of a better life, but I guess that remains to be seen.

The part about Kate not being ‘smoked’ is intriguing too. Maybe she’s the wild-card and the one that will take smokey by surprise and ultimately bring him down.

Looking forward to seeing where Hurley & Jack wind up after we last saw them at the lighthouse and where Sawyer is/what he’s up to. Hopefully the last 12 episodes are as full as last weeks. No time left to fart around.

1 & 7 – Sayid and Kate are Candidates (his name is in the cave, hers is on the lighthouse wheel). Smokey can’t kill them, and I don’t think Dogen is allowed to either. That’s why he swore in Japanese that he’d like to cut off Hurley’s head but couldn’t. Same deal with Sayid. Same deal with Smokey passing over Kate.

8 – Yes, it was Smokey in the cabin. Remember before Ilana burned it down, she said “someone else has been using it” – meaning someone other than Jacob. For my money, the Smokester.

I still don’t understand why Jack’s appendix was removed when he was a kid if the other timeline is actually the end of the show when the plane didn’t crash.

If anything his appendix would’ve been removed a while after he landed, not when he was a kid.

yeah, I don’t have to much to add about Jin right now. We just don’t know a whole lot. I mean, I’m assuming the wad of cash he had in his luggage was for Keamy or the person Keamy works for (Widmore perhaps?). How did he end up in the freezer…i have no idea.

Although it does bring up another interesting thought. Where is Sun in the alt-timeline? She wasn’t in the freezer with Jin…is it because she’s dead? It would certainly give another meaning to the title of the episode “sundown” and might also explain why the episode wasn’t a Sun side-flash. After all, we have seen Keamy kill an important woman on the show before, when he shot Alex.

We’ll learn more soon enough…

Nothing about Jin? What was that all about and what does he have to do with the guys that were after Sayid’s brother?

As for Kate not being killed by Smokey….It seemed to me that Smokey Locke registered the slightest bit of surprise when he saw Kate come out the door. Granted he didn’t pay her much attention so he obviously doesn’t consider her a threat, but it seemed to me like he wasn’t exactly expecting to see her. At least that’s the way it looked to me.

Bryan…I weep intensely every week you do a Lost post. Then my eyes get this twitch. Then I scream loudly enough so that somebody over in France can hear me. All the crying renders me dehydrated and it floods my house, then I slowly turn into a human raisin from dehydration and drown in all my tears. haha
