    1. Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream and Sandwich Cafe. My first job, and my favorite.

    2. Economic researcher and fiscal analyst for state government

    3. Teach elementary school reading and language arts. And make ice cream concoctions.

  3. My first job was sacking groceries. I got a summer second job “delivering” phone books (read: tossing phone books from a truck at poor inner city houses.)

    Today, I’m a teacher and a pastor.

    I suppose I’d be a professional critic if I could be anything. I’d critique anything!

    3. i think i’d work at camps…or anything youth-work related. used to be involved with Camp South Africa (http://www.allianceredwoods.com/camp_south_africa.shtml) till I grew up and life got in the way, so i think i’d do something like that.

    1. Idlewild Park. The greatest job of all time. Worked there for 6 summers.

    2. *ducks* PennDOT. Not the stand on the road and hold a shovel type, but the work in the office and deal with all the information of the road and attempt to ensure its accuracy type.

    3. As much as I would love to be a rock star, I think that only lasts a finite period of time, so if I could do anything else, it would be a missionary (which I hope to do once school loans and junk are paid off).

    If money is truly no issue I would also feed the whole planet.

    1. McDonald’s toasting buns for 3 hours a week before I got fired because my buddy failed to show up to cover my shift twice in a row.

    2. Quality Engineer for a Biopharmaceutical company.

    3. Blog here and write better stuff for you guys, and write books, and speak a bit more.

    Current: Director of Ministry Development for Logos Bible Software

    Do Anything/Dream: Combine current job with an office building nestled in the woods at the foot of Mt. Baker!

    Dream job: probably not dissimilar to current job, but with the added bonus of being a professional footballer (real football, aka soccer)

    First job: employee at gift/fufu shop
    Current: labor and delivery nurse
    Dream: work w/anthropologists identifying and repatriating remains of individuals in military related areas of Asia/Pacific

    3. Wife/mom (big prayer request), professional singer (because I love to sing), help in spreading the Gospel around Scotland/UK (because that’s where mu family lives)

    1. Baseball/Softball gate-keeper at my jr. high/high school. From 8th grade to senior year.

    2. Graphic designer for a legal services company. And a Miche Bag rep.

    3. I’d be working for some kind of girls’ ministry. Hopefully I’ll be working as my hubby’s assistant at a college ministry in about a year and a half, and that will be a dream job! We just have to keep praying it works out… :) And when kids come along, I want to be a stay-at-home mommy.

    @Zac – dude, I loved idlewild park as a kid! But I was pretty rude to the workers. Sorry if I was rude to you. I can’t wait to take my kids there – probably this summer on a ride out or back from visiting from folks in the Burgh.

      I remember you, you mean kid you!

      I actually worked in the food area Sweet Treets (SIC) and Cyclone Cone. Most of the rude people we dealt with involved complaints about the lines.

      It is an awesome park to take kids. We have season passes and probably took my 3 year old 20 times last summer. For the cost of 2 admission tickets you could go unlimited times and you don’t feel like you are getting ripped off if you just go for a couple hours.

    First Job: Janitorial Assistant. Talk about starting at the bottom, I was a step below Janitor.

    Current Job: I’m an IT Analyst that specializes in application support for a mid-size financial institution.

    Dream Job: Singer/Songwriter.

    First job: picking blueberries in Arkansas and babysitting

    Current job: part time education coordinator for a pro-life organization, freelance writer/copy writer/editor, full time wife/mom/homemaker

    Dream job: I would move to the Netherlands to help my former youth pastor with an international church he’s planting and focus on ministry to women and families. I’d also continue the writing and pursue a book contract.

    First job I remember doing for money: Got paid a nickel for every day I made my bed. My parents tried so hard to teach my sister & me; the money worked because we got paid when we did the work and when we didn’t do it, we got nothing.

    Currently: I’m the executive assistant to the dean of a veterinary college. Great job.

    Dreaming: Definitely something creative. Maybe pottery or graphic design. I always wanted to be a professional singer – so that would still be fun too.

    “Guy Friday”, as it was written on the job description. I worked carnivals, tossed pizzas and catered a booth at the International Balloon Fiesta.

    I now work for an accounting firm, but I’m the network administrator, not one of the humorless bean counters.

    If I could do anything else, I’d be a writer. It’s been a lifelong dream.

    Honestly, as cheesy as this sounds, this is what I want to do…so keep working in this field, that I’m passionate about and trying to help people, maybe I’d do more traveling…

    Job Now: Student, and waiting for lawn care to start back up considering it’s winter where I am!
    Dream: I would be a writer, writing novels about fantasy worlds with embedded morals!

    Before that I taught piano lessons, but that didn’t feel like a job.

    2. What is your job/career now?
    Home Educator, Wife, Mom
    (I previously worked as a graphic artist before coming home full time.)

    3. If you could be doing anything else with your life — money’s not an issue — what would it be and why?
    I would love to work in the field of home education, encouraging weary moms. I would love to have more time to travel and explore what God is doing in other parts of the world. And I’d like to do more artsy things.

    3. Travel writer is always the first thing I think of, but then I realize that you’d have to travel all the time and I like being home, so I would say a TV show critic.

    My first job as a kid was mowing lawns around my neighborhood, then I downgraded myself at age 16 to go work my first “real” job at Kmart.

    I am now a pastor who came from the westcoast to the midwest and love the amazing community I live in.

    I would take all the dreams I have about reaching people and make them a reality. When I was a youth pastor in Las Vegas I had dreamed about taking a hotel/casino called Castaways and transforming that into and outreach, community, mentoring center for as many as possible. I now try to do that by teaming up with the ministries that are doing that in my community right now!

    1. Telemarketing- selling magazines, except that I was really bad at it because I was too nice and didn’t sell a thing! I only did it for 3 days before I simultaneously got fired and quit! The funny thing was that my first full time job 3 years later was at a small daycare chain and the main office took up the whole building where the telemarketing was (the building used to be a bunch of offices, the telemarketing job was in one room).

    2. Stay at home mom!!

    3. I have my dream job now! I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Once my kids (only one right now) go to school I do want to pursue becoming a reading specialist (need to finish my bachelors degree first). I am completely content now though.

    First Job: Cashier at BiLo (Grocery store)

    Current Job: Not employed/ presently volunteering at the church I attend that is located in the inner-city, I am in charge of the tech/sound. We also have a ministry that brings together churches and businesses through out the city to spread God’s word and share His love to those who don’t know it, called WITHOUT WALLS MINISTRIES. I book the bands for the outreaches that we have throughout the year. I LOVE IT!

    Dream Job: Band Manager, I love to be the one people call and say hey we’d love for you to come here. Writer. Wife, if God has that in His Will.

    Lately, I’ve been dreaming of having a combination bakery/bulk foods/book store. Kind of like an Amish run store, but our area is lacking something like this. I love to bake, read and I buy lots of bulk foods from the out of town places we visit.

    I have so many dreams – but my current one is to write/teach/consult about leadership development, and the connection between God and work.
